I can call myself a lucky man as I have been able to turn two of the loves of my life into a profession: the love of English and the love of language in general. It is this love and the acknowledgement of language being the essence of culture and culture being something worthy of our admiration, irrespective of whether it is our own, or a culture that we do not instantaneously understand, or even perceive as foreign or alien, that inspire me in my daily business.
